Police Headquarters handed over

Shepherd Gilmour are pleased to announce that Greater Manchester Police's new Force Headquarters in Newton Heath, Manchester has been officially handed over. We provided civil & strucutral engineering services on the project. The building which aims for a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating, was built by Carillion with the architect being Aedas and provides 240,000 sq.ft of office space for the police over 6 storeys.

The HQ building is situated on Central Park, part of New East Manchester which is being developed by Ask:Goodman as part of the wider regeneration of the area.

Shepherd Gilmour are also working on Greater Manchester Police' Divisional headquarters building which is being built by the same team on a site directly adjacent to the Force HQ building.

Malcolm Hollings, our project director on the project , comments, "The police's rigorous brief for the project means that the engineering solutions have created a very robust building which will serve the police well and whcih we are very proud to be have been involved with."
