Sustainable Homes in Cambridgeshire

With sustainability top of everyone’s agenda, Shepherd Gilmour are pleased to announce that one of our projects, Waterbeach in Cambridge, an MOD site has been awarded a 4-star rating under the Code for Sustainable Homes. In particular, the project scored 100% in relation to measures to mitigate surface water run-off, and the reduction, re-use and recycling of waste construction materials.

The Waterbeach Housing Assessment Study was undertaken for MODern Housing Solutions, on behalf of Defence Estates, which looks after housing for service families. Shepherd Gilmour provided engineering advice and design services relating to the structural design including foundations, and infrastructure design including drainage and highways, in particular for two house types which will be used across the site

Shepherd Gilmour worked with DLA Architecture and Edmund Shipway on this project which is part of a larger project covering more than 280 properties.
