Shepherd Gilmour are pleased to announce the latest schools in the Lancashire Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme opened their doors last month. The two schools, Hameldon Community College and The Rose School, both of which are in Burnley, are part of the Phase 3 works of the Lancashire’s BSF programme and were built by Bovis Lend Lease, part of Catalyst Education.
Hameldon Community College (pictured top) is a new-build secondary school providing 750 places for pupils aged 11-16 whilst The Rose School (pictured below) is a 40-place specialist school for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties aged 11-16.
Shepherd Gilmour’s Director responsible for the projects, Giles Burton said, “We are pleased that these two schools have opened. They show the worth of the BSF programme despite its recent cancellation and they will give the pupils of Burnley first-class learning facilities.”
