Turnberry Hotel shortlisted for European Hotel Design Awards

Shepherd Gilmour are pleased to announce that one of its projects, Turnberry Hotel in Scotland has been shortlisted for the 2010 European Hotel Design Awards. The project has been shortlisted in the “Conversion of an existing hotel building” category.

The winners will be announced at the Sleep Event to be held in the Business Design Centre in London in November. The Sleep Event is Europe’s only conference which focuses entirely on the design, architecture and development of hotels.

Turnberry Hotel is one of the world’s most well known hotels and golf resorts. Shepherd Gilmour’s Director for the project, Giles Burton said, “We are very pleased that the team’s hard work on this project has been recognised. The project was a complex one, involving the complete reworking and refurbishment of the hotel and had an immovable deadline to re-open of July 2009 due to the hotel staging the Open Golf Championships.”
