The New Roundhouse wins at the Roses Design Awards
Posted: October 2009 Shepherd Gilmour are delighted to announce that one of their projects, the New Roundhouse in Openshaw, Manchester has been honoured with an award.
Facing stiff competition from projects across the country, the New Roundhouse won a Bronze Rose in the 2009 Roses Design Awards.

The building is located in the New East Manchester regeneration zone, and provides community and learning spaces for three organisations – a local charity organisation, Manchester Settlement, a housing association, Mosscare and a sixth form college, Manchester College.
The project architect, John Walker of Walker Simpson said he was delighted that this socially important project has been recognised at a national level. Giles Burton, Shepherd Gilmour’s Director for the project, said,
“The New Roundhouse has been a fascinating and complex project which provides tremendous benefit for the local community and highlights very well the skills of our engineers”. |
