| The building is located in the New East Manchester regeneration zone, and provides community and learning spaces for three organisations – a local charity organisation, Manchester Settlement, a housing association, Mosscare and a sixth form college, Manchester College. The project architect, John Walker of Walker Simpson said he was delighted that this socially important project has been recognised at a national level. Giles Burton, Shepherd Gilmour’s Director for the project, said, “The New Roundhouse has been a fascinating and complex project which provides tremendous benefit for the local community and highlights very well the skills of our engineers”. |
