One of the highlights was the appearance of Sir Howard Bernstein, the Chief Executive of Manchester City Council. In an impassioned speech, Sir Howard highlighted the capital investment undertaken so far in Manchester as well as talking about future projects such as Elizabeth House, the Town Hall extension / Central Library programme and the ongoing regeneration of east Manchester.

Shepherd Gilmour’s Head of Marketing, David Mycock and CIMCIG's regional chair, who organised the conference commented, “It was gratifying to see so many senior figures at this event. The level of attendance and the quality of the speakers showed that demand is there for quality construction marketing events. The uncertainty surrounding government capital expenditure has certainly focused people’s minds.”
